CopiaFacts™ Reference Manual

This topic describes the Gateway Message Processor component.

Architecture

The message processor runs in a single thread in the Gateway service process.  It reads incoming messages, validates and processes each one, with output consisting of FS files which initiate other CopiaFacts tasks, such as sending a fax.

The message processor has no interaction with the SMTP server(s) other than processing the messages that they receive and save.

Processing is divided into eight operation stages:

•Finding and Parsing Messages

•S/MIME decoding

•Validating the Sender

•Validating the Recipients

•Processing the message parts

•Writing an FS file

•Processing Errors: see Gateway Errors and Warnings

•Saving the processed messages
