E-Mails are not being sent

Scroll Prev Top Next More

Symptom:

Outbound E-Mails are not attempted, or attempts are failing

Actions

First: Establish and record the context; when did the problem start?  Were there any changes or upgrades to the CopiaFacts system, to the hardware or VM; to Windows; to the Network; to the Mail Server (if used). at the same time?  If you have multiple CopiaFacts fax nodes are they all affected?

Next: Check in STATUS to determine whether e-mail transmissions are being reported as failures; if so what outcome codes are being reported? Or are there no visible attempts to e-mail anything?  Is COPIAFACTS running?  If only one node is affected, are the schedule settings on the Channels TAB in CopiaFacts correct?

If e-mails are being attempted and failing to transmit, it is essential to run FFTRACE and enable CF9EMAIL in File/Applications, then send or retry some e-mails of the type that have failed. Send the trace file to Copia Support for further advice if viewing the trace file does not make clear what the problem is.

If no e-mail transmissions are being attempted, the fault may lie in the scripts from which e-mails are initiated. In the first instance send the COPIAFACTS trace file for the day of the problem to Copia Support for further advice.
