Set CopiaFacts Message Service Options
$cfmsg nodename [IPaddress][ServiceOnly]
$cfmsg CFCP \\machinename [IPaddress]
$cfmsg CFMSG [IPaddress]
This command is used to specify override options for controlling the application with the specified nodename through the CopiaFacts Control Panel (CFCP). When an override is needed, a separate command should be supplied for each nodename to be so controlled. They control how the CFMSG service is accessed from other applications.
![]() | The address on this command specifies the NIC card from which messages to CFMSG will be sent. The default is to select a NIC card with an address in the same sub-net as the CFMSGIP address specified in CFMSG.INI. Normally no $cfmsg commands are needed. |
The parameters on this command are used as follows:
| first parameter | This parameter may be a nodename, assigned in the CFHWL configurator for the COPIAFACTS engine node or the FFEXTERN document converter node; or a special keyword, CFCP or CFMSG as described below. |
| nodename | When the first parameter is nodename, an additional parameter can specify the IP address to be used by the COPIAFACTS or FFEXTERN to communicate with CFMSG, for use when the machine on which the node instance runs has more than one NIC card. A second additional parameter, ServiceOnly, can be used to specify that COPIAFACTS or FFEXTERN cannot be controlled by the CopiaFacts Control Panel (CFCP) when running as a local Desktop application. Instead, they can only be started using the normal desktop or start menu icons and controlled from the desktop. |
| CFCP | This keyword requires a second parameter, the Windows \\machinename of the machine where this command is to apply when the CopiaFacts Control Panel (CFCP) is run there. An additional parameter can specify the IP address to be used by CFCP to communicate with CFMSG, for use when the machine on which CFCP runs has more than one NIC card. |
| CFMSG | The IP address on this command can optionally be used to override the IP address specified in FFCFG.INI (as CFMSGIP). |
Example:
To force messages from node M3 to be sent from a specific NIC card address:
$cfmsg M3 192.168.1.103
To force CFCP to use a specific NIC card address when used on machine \\ADMIN:
$cfmsg CFCP \\ADMIN 192.168.1.101
