Active Directory Connection
$ad_connect node interval
This command is used to set up a connection to an Active Directory database. It is a required command if you wish to access AD using the built-in interface. It is also possible to access AD using the CopiaFacts Database Support features.
The parameters on this command are used as follows:
| node | the nodename affected, or * for all nodes. This may be COPIAFACTS or a CFGATEWAY nodename. |
| interval | the interval in minutes between refresh operations. A value of 0 will cause the AD user records to be retrieved only at startup of the CopiaFacts process which is accessing the data. Other values less than 5 will be set as 5. |
To use the AD integration feature, CopiaFacts must be running in a domain account, not a local account.
If the connection to Active Directory fails, COPIAFACTS will not start. If a later refresh fails, operation continues without refreshing the AD user data; a Notification Trigger can be configured in EMSETUP for this condition.
Further configuration information for Active Directory can be supplied as configuration-file $environment variables or in the Windows System environment settings.
If you have multiple $ad_connect commands, the first one matching the current node or with an * node name will be selected.
For further details on the use of Active Directory data, see Active Directory Integration.
Example:
$ad_connect * 60 ; connect with hourly refresh
$environment * ADP_PROPERTIES "mail,name,givenName,sn,logon,memberOf"
