FFVIEWER can originate a request to the CopiaFacts server to send a fax or e-mail.  The transmission can include the document being viewed (if any), an optional cover sheet or e-mail body on which you can add memo lines, and any other documents from your image catalog.  The document can be sent immediately or deferred for sending later.

When FFVIEWER is started from the CopiaFacts Client, selecting this menu item transfers control back to the Client software to send the fax or e-mail.

To send a fax or e-mail from FFVIEWER you need to supply a minimum set of parameters on the Fax/E-Mail Send page of the settings dialog.  The choice of e-mail or fax is made by reference to the destination number/address: if it contains an '@' then an e-mail is sent.  The settings dialog also allows personal settings to be copied from the CopiaFacts Client.

FFVIEWER adds the following commands to create the complete FS file:

A $fax_receiver command is created from the "recipient" field on the send fax dialog, which is expanded into the @ROUTETO variable on your cover sheet, if any.

A $fax_phone or $email_address command is created from the "at fax phone or e-mail" field on the send fax dialog.

A $fax_filename command is created for the document currently being viewed, if there is one. If the page being viewed has a numeric filename, or is part of a file containing multiple pages, all pages will be sent.

More $fax_filename commands are created for any attachment files you specify in the "with documents" box.

A $fax_send_time command is created if you specify a delayed transmission.

$var_def commands set MEMOn variables for the cover sheet memo lines if required.

$var_def commands for REC_FROM, REC_DATE and REC_TIME on a file opened via an MCF (mail control file) using the Mail Selection Dialog.

The Fax/E-Mail Send Dialog is used to originate the fax request.
