The CFGMServer.exe program should be copied to the Copia folder under Program Files. The sample configuration file FFGMCFG.INI file should be copied to the FaxFacts folder. And the HTML notes shell file GMShell.htm should be copied to the FaxFacts folder. The first time you run CFGMServer, it will launch the setup wizard. The setup wizard launch is triggered by the absence of the SetupInfo section in FFGMCFG.INI file.
Before running the CFGMServer program, you should create a Goldmine user with master rights that will be used to perform the calendar file scan and creation of the FS files to send fax/email messages. You should log into this account after you create it and make sure that start-up hints are disabled and that it does not ask for a new password or prompt for any information that the monitor program cannot supply. It should be a clean login. Once you can log in to this account without additional prompts, you are ready to start CFGMServer and run the setup wizard. The setup wizard displays the following introductory screen:
Click on the next button to bring up the administrator setup screen. The administrator will be used to protect access to the configuration options and other run-time controls. The administrator account name does not need to be a Goldmine account, since it is not used to access Goldmine. The administrator setup screen prompts for an administrator name and password:
After entering the administrator information click on the next button to bring up the CopiaFacts Goldmine account setup screen:
Enter the account name and password of the account you created to run the monitoring and scanning operations. The setup wizard will attempt to login to this account and will check whether it has master rights or not. It will also gather information on Goldmine users for use in setup. You will then be prompted to create or assign the default fax track.
By default, setup will prepare to create a new user for the fax track called CFAX. It will also generate a random password for this account. You may instead choose to use an existing user account for fax operations. You may wish to do this if you already have created a fax track for OmniRush. If your installation requires an SQL user and password for access to the Goldmine database then you should enter that information here if you are creating a new fax track user. The software will not attempt to login to the accounts specified for fax or email tracks.
Click on the Next button after you have entered the information for the new fax track user or have selected an existing user for fax operations. You will enter settings for this track on the following screen. Normally, you will not change these settings since they match the default track settings used by OmniRush. You should, however, choose a track owner from the drop-down list of Goldmine users. Normally, you would assign a Goldmine administrator account as a track owner. We also recommend changing the priority to 1 or more. Leave the fax header and coversheet blank to use the defaults.
After you have filled in the settings for the default fax track, click on the Next button to create or assign the default email track:
Setting up the default email track is very similar to setting up the default fax track:
Once you’ve entered the settings for the default email track click on the Next button to assign the default CopiaFacts user. The default CopiaFacts user is used to provide fax and email settings for Goldmine users who do not have a corresponding CopiaFacts user account. By default, a new CopiaFacts user called Goldmine will be created. However, you may select an existing CopiaFacts user instead. The settings for the default user will also be applied to any new CopiaFacts users created during setup.
After selecting the default CopiaFacts user click on the Next button to modify settings for the default CopiaFacts user:
The sender name and default coversheet are filled in. You should enter a fax number and email address. You may leave the fax header and user profile blank to accept the defaults. The priority determines which fax/email queue is used for messages generated by this account. We recommend setting this to 1 or more. Leave the fax header and user profile entries blank to use the defaults. You will get a warning if any of this information is missing. You may then choose to continue to use the defaults or not if you wish to enter that information. Click on the next button to display the screen for setting up CopiaFacts user accounts for selected Goldmine users:
You may select multiple users and CopiaFacts user accounts will be created for those users. The settings for the default user account will be used along with whatever settings, such as fax and email address, that may be extracted from individual user settings in the Goldmine user INI files. When you click on the Next button, the miscellaneous configuration settings will be displayed for you to enter.
You should choose an existing folder for files that you will be sending. This folder, normally referred to as the outfax folder, is the default import folder. You may enter or browse for the Goldmine template folder if you want the scanner to check this folder first for documents. The OmniRush users import folder is optional. This is normally the OmniRush Import folder in the Goldmine system directory. Individual folders for Goldmine users may exist within this folder allowing users to have their own set of documents. The working folder is used to copy source documents that will be pre-processed to evaluate macros and DDE links. This folder should be visible to the fax server. If it does not exist, it will be created. The scan interval is the number of seconds between searches done on the calendar table for fax and email activities.
Once you’ve finished entering the configuration menu click on the Next button to display a summary of the setup options you’ve made.
Review the setup parameters before clicking on the Finish button to complete the setup. You may also right-click on the setup summary, select all, and copy the summary to the clipboard and then paste it to a file for future reference. This is particularly useful for keeping track of passwords.
Once setup is complete, the monitor will login using the account you set up and begin scanning the calendar table for messages to send.
