The paths and values will need to be changed to match the settings on your system. The changes made to FAXFACTS.CFG and FFCFG.INI are required to support the Golmine API used in the cfgmapi.dll that performs post-process history updates for the CopiaFacts workstation client.  These entries are not necessary for the Goldmine scanner. Nor are they required if you will not be performing history updates from the client. The values assigned to the variables SYSDIR, GOLDDIR, and COMMDIR are derived from the corresponding values displayed in the Help\About dialog in Goldmine after clicking on the System button. The COMMDIR variable is set from the Contact Files value shown in the system information dialog. The entries in FFCFG.INI provide the location of the Goldmine API supoort dll. Make sure that this folder location is also included in the system path.

The workstation client uses ADO and DDE to communicate with the Goldmine database to extract contact info. In order to connect to the Goldmine database using ADO, the client needs a Microsoft Universal Data Link (UDL) file to store connection information. The file Goldmine Contacts.UDL is provided in the Default Client folder under the FaxFacts\Userjobs folder. This file must be modified before it is used with your system. You can double-click on the file to open it with the Microsoft Data Link Editor. Here you can make modifications and test the connection on the Connection tab in the data link editor. The Provider tab should be used to set a data provider that is common to all of your users. However, if necessary, you can create individual Goldmine Contacts.UDL files for each user as necessary if they cannot connect using the common UDL file. Just copy the Goldmine Contacts.UDL file to the Resources folder for that particular user under the FaxFacts\Userjobs folder. Then from the client workstation, double-click on their copy to tailor it to the providers installed on that particular machine.
