To select files for use with FFBC fax broadcasts, use the ellipsis button in the Fax Document File Name panel.  File names are saved in the Template file.

This button brings up the file selection dialog:

You can select either a TIF file ready for faxing or a file to be pre-converted using a supported, installed application.  Files can also be opened by number or name from a Fax-on-Demand image catalog.

Files must be located under the COPIA\FAXFACTS folder where they are visible to the COPIAFACTS engine and to the Document Converter, if needed.  The only exceptions to this rule are a PDF file which you use FFBC to pre-convert, for which the ouput is automatically placed in a visible folder; and a local file if you are running FFBC on the same machine as your single instance of COPIAFACTS.

The name of a selected faxable file is placed in the upper file name box and can be faxed directly.

If the file is non-faxable, its name will be placed in the lower box so that it can be pre-converted to faxable format.   Note that PDF files can be converted without the use of a supported PDF application and without having CopiaFacts Document Converter installed.  Other files (DOC, DOCX, RTF, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX) require either the applicable Office application installed or suitable $convert_options keywords, along with the CopiaFacts Document Converter option.

After loading the file, you can either convert it to faxable format, or leave it for conversion to faxable format when it is first transmitted.  This will require one or more CopiaFacts Document Converter instances to be running on your network, with the appropriate applications installed.  You will not have a chance to check the output of the conversion, as can be done if you pre-convert the document.

To pre-convert, use the Pre-Convert button: otherwise use the Use Original button, which also closes the dialog:

Note that the pre-converted file is placed in the TEMP folder under CALLBACK, where it is visible to COPIAFACTS engines for transmission.
