Set up Action Code lookup file(s)
Either create a text file, or use PIN to create an NDX file, with the destinations to each of which the transmissions are to be consolidated. For example you might create a file CONSOL.TXT in the COPIA\FAXFACTS folder:
Then add an $action_phone command, specifying the action code corresponding to the interval over which you wish to consolidate transmissions. For example code 122 specifies an interval of ten minutes:
$action_phone @FFBASE\CONSOL.TXT 122
This is a configuration command (in FAXFACTS.CCFG). You can also place the $action_phone command in a Job Administration UJP file for use at launch time.
If you need consolidations spanning different intervals, you can either use Action Code files with different files and codes, or combine them in one file where there is an action code on each line, whitespace separated:
In this case the command should be entered as:
$action_phone @FFBASE\CONSOL wsdelim
The wsdelim parameter allows any white space delimiter in the file: the default is a single tab character.
Set up FFEXTERN Consolidation Process
Note that Consolidation requires a license-counted instance of FFEXTERN. You will have been given a new license key with one or more Document Converter counted licenses, which you must first install and configure a Document Converter node. The nodename must then be selected in FFEXTERN. Until you have done this, CONSOLIDATE will not be visible on the Special Process menu shown below.
First click Special Processing and then Add Special Process, then select CONSOLIDATE:
After clicking OK, set the desired parameters on the displayed form:
We recommend that when running FFEXTERN for consolidation you should specify an OMA file name on the FFEXTERN command-line, and run OMACHECK to ensure that you are notified when FFEXTERN is not running.
