We suggest installing Wireshark which you can obtain from http://www.wireshark.org/download.html. Installing Wireshark will enable you, or Copia support personnel, to verify that the transmission parameters are correct, and will also help in resolving any problems.
If your SIP traffic will require registration with a SIP provider, we suggest that you visit http://www.counterpath.com/x-lite.html and download and install X-Lite (free). This will enable you to verify the registration, username and password with voice traffic. Be sure to close X-Lite or any other software SIP phone completely before starting BladeWare or running CopiaFacts.
Download the following files to a temporary folder (check the release notes for any other downloads):
•the BladeWare installer: use the latest link in the Hardware topic for Commetrex BladeWare SIP.
•the CopiaFacts Internet install manager http://cdn.copia.com/files82/COPIAINSTALL.exe. Note that all cdn.copia.com links are case-sensitive.
Remote Support for Installation
Installing and configuring CopiaFacts and BladeWare for SIP can be complicated, and different settings are required for different environments. If you have arranged Copia remote support (recommended) start by running COPIAINSTALL. To access remote support, select ‘Remote Support’, then double-click on the name of the assigned Copia support person who is expecting your call. This will allow the support person to view and control your machine. The further installation steps will be carried out for you by the remote support person.
Install BladeWare first. Important: on the screen which selects the components to install, change the BladeWare Service option to Install on local hard drive:
Accept the defaults for the remainder of the Bladeware install.
Select No when asked to reboot at the end of the BladeWare installation.
Set the BladeWare service to Manual Startup using Computer/Manage/Services:
Copia Server Installation
Run COPIAINSTALL and click on First Time Installation. Select the default of local folder C:\COPIA. After the folder and share have been created you will be prompted for the license files: browse to and select the COPIA_xxxx.ZIP. If this file is not available, you should select Install in evaluation mode. Your license files can be installed later. [If no license files have been installed, you can return to the prompt for license files, click again on the top button in COPIAINSTALL (which will now read ‘Relocate COPIA share…’) and then cancel out of the dialog.]
To download the Copia Server Installer, use COPIAINSTALL, and click on Select and Download CopiaFacts Installers. Check only the checkmark next to CopiaServerInstall (currently version 8043, this may change). Click Download.
After the file has downloaded, in COPIAINSTALL click on Install CopiaFacts Server Components on this machine. If prompted for an installer password, enter it (currently Candidate3). Accept all the installer default settings. If COPIATECH (remote support) is running, the installer will be unable to overwrite it: click Ignore if you see this warning.
Initial Copia Server Configuration
At the end of the install the CopiaFacts Initial Server Configuration (SERCONF) will run. In the USA, ensure that 'Standard USA Phone Masks' is checked. Leave 'External Dial Prefix' empty. Verify that ‘International Dial Prefix’ is correct. Either accept the defaults for 'Fax Answerback' and 'Local folder…' or enter your preference. Only check 'Run EMSETUP' if you want to enable CopiaFacts e-mail on the machine. Click Continue to create the initial FAXFACTS.CFG and FAX.USR CopiaFacts configuration files.
SIP Setup for Copia and BladeWare
Run OTFCONFIG from Start Menu / CopiaFacts. This program configures the SIP parameters which CopiaFacts will pass to BladeWare to set up SIP calls.
Visit each of the three leftmost tab pages in turn and enter the necessary parameters. If you have made any entries or changes on the Protocols page, click on Update Profile. Then visit each of the four rightmost tab pages, verify that no entries are missing or invalid (shown in red text), and then save each file you have modified using the Save button.
If your SIP service does not require registration, ignore the first 'Register' tab in OTFCONFIG and on the FAXFACTS.CFG page check the 'Omit $sip_register' checkbox.
On each of the last three pages, you can also use the Run button after saving the command file, to run a test. These tests use BladeWare test utilities (SIPREGISTER, FAXSENDER, FAXRECEIVER), and not CopiaFacts server.
The Save All button is only enabled after you have visited and checked each of the four rightmost tab pages. At this stage all four tab labels should be shown in green text.
Copia Support will assist with any issues arising from the tests which can be run from OTFCONFIG.
You will not usually need to start the COPIAFACTS server engine until you can send and receive a fax with the BladeWare utilities. Once the BladeWare utilities are working successfully, you can start COPIAFACTS and use FFBC to send single and multiple test faxes.
