Commetrex BladeWare MSP (Sangoma)
To install Commetrex BladeWare for Sangoma boards, use the following procedure exactly:
Install the Hardware
If you have not already installed the board(s), do this first. Do not install any Sangoma drivers that may have been provided with the board.
When you start up the machine after installing the hardware cancel all plug-and-play driver pop-ups, and close any warning messages that the hardware might not have installed correctly.
This Commetrex web page has details of how the Sangoma analog board components fit together.
Uninstall existing Sangoma drivers, if present
If you have already installed any Sangoma drivers, you must uninstall them, using Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs. You will find them near the foot of the list (the version numbers may differ):
After removing the Sangoma drivers, use the Windows Device Manager to "Scan for hardware changes". To run the Device Manager, right click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, select the "Manage" tab, then click "Device Manager". To cause the Device Manager to "Scan for hardware changes", Select 'Computer" on the right, click the "Action" menu drop down list, and select "Scan for hardware changes". This will ensure that the Sangoma Driver installation package will locate the newly uninstalled devices. Cancel all plug-and-play driver pop-ups that appear when you uninstall the drivers.
Run the file BladeWare_MSP_x.x.x.MSI. On the selection menu, make sure that the MSP SDK and the BladeWare Service are selected:
You do not require the BladeWare Client SDK and you can omit this to save space. The Sangoma driver files will be installed in Program Files\Commetrex\Sangoma\Card, but this installer does not install the drivers themselves, which you will do in the next step.
Select No when asked to reboot at the end of the BladeWare installation.
Set the BladeWare service to Manual Startup using Computer/Manage/Services (see below for details).
You must then reboot after installing BladeWare: again, cancel all plug-and-play driver pop-ups and close any messages about hardware not having installed properly.
Install the Sangoma Drivers
Open a 'Command Prompt' window and change directory to C:\Program Files\Commetrex\sangoma\wanpipe\card.
Run setup install
Again, cancel all plug-and-play driver pop-ups and close any messages about hardware not having installed properly.
The setup should complete with the following message:
If you encounter any problems during hardware/driver installation, refer to the INSTALL.pdf found in \Commetrex\sangoma for additional help, or call Copia support for assistance.
Create a Sangoma configuration file
Prior to running BladeWare MSP you must install a configuration file matching your hardware installation, using the utility named DEVCON5. Use the following procedure to create and install the configuration file into BladeWare, or copy and paste the command file available by expanding the + toggle below.
Open a 'Command Prompt' window and change directory: cd \Program Files\Commetrex\otf\bin.
Run net stop BladeWare If BladeWare was not already running, ignore the message that will appear.
Run devcon5 -f ..\Config\msp_config.cfg
A number of command windows will appear. Click in the original command window to restore the focus to it.
Run addprofile ..\Config\msp_config.cfg msp_config config
Leave the original command window open and close all the others that opened automatically, using the X close button.
Run either net start BladeWare (to start the service) or startotf-oaf.bat.(to open the BladeWare command sessions).

Double-check that BladeWare is set to start manually
We recommend that BladeWare is set to start manually. The BladeWare service will be started or restarted by the COPIAFACTS program when you start it. If you prefer to have BladeWare start automatically, we suggest that you set an environment variable BLADEWARESERVICE to a value of NONE, which will prevent stopping and restarting the service when you start COPIAFACTS.
To select Manual startup type:
•Right-click My Computer, select Manage / Services and Applications / Services
•Scroll down to BladeWare, right-click it, and select Properties. If the Startup type is not set to Manual, set it to Manual and click OK. Note that the BladeWare service will be started or restarted by the COPIAFACTS program when you start it. If you prefer to
That completes the BladeWare and Sangoma Driver installation.
