Specify Tone Parameters for Hang-Up Tone

$hangup_tone line parmlist

This command specifies a tone which is recognized by CopiaFacts as indicating a hangup. Typically the tone will be issued by a PBX when the call is terminated by the caller, in the absence of any loop current drop. If the call hangup is not detected by the local switch, CopiaFacts may also hear a hangup tone generated by the telephone network, which will also need to be specified.

The simplest and most reliable means of finding the specification of tone pattern used by your PBX is to look in the technical manual or ask the manufacturer. Copia are also building a list of PBX models and hangup tones and would welcome a brief report of the tones used by your system. If no data is available from the manufacturer or Copia for your specific PBX, please ask for a copy of a Dialogic utility which can be used to analyze the tones.

The parameters on this command are used as follows:

line the line number or line group(s) affected, or * for all lines. Up to two tones may be defined for each line.
parmlist a list of nine white-space-separated values as follows:
freq1 the first or only tone frequency in Hz
fq1dev the deviation of the above tone in Hz
freq2 the second tone frequency in Hz of a dual tone (or zero for a single tone)
fq2dev the deviation of the above tone in Hz (or zero for a single tone)
ontime the cadence on-time in 10ms units. If the tone is continuous, enter here half the minimum time value.
ontdev the cadence on-time deviation in 10ms units. If the tone is continuous, enter here minus half the minimum time value.
offtime the cadence off-time in 10ms units. If the tone is continuous, enter zero.
offtdev the cadence off-time deviation in 10ms units. If the tone is continuous, enter zero.
repcnt the cadence minimum repetition count. If the tone is continuous, enter zero.

Because the hangup tone may coincide on some systems with the normal dial tone, CopiaFacts automatically disables detection of the hangup tone during dialing.

Specify a single tone of 420Hz with equal on and off times of 375ms, recognized after 2 repetitions:
