Specify Hardware Channel to Exclude

$exclude_channel nodename devname

This command is used to prevent CopiaFacts from opening a voice, fax, or telephony channel which is required for another application. You may also need to configure the other application to ignore channels which are in use by CopiaFacts.

The parameters on this command are used as follows:

nodename The CopiaFacts identifier for the node in which the hardware is installed.
devname The device name using the format shown below. The device name entered may be a substring of the actual device name: thus DxxxB7 entered on this command excludes all voice channels on Dialogic logical board 7. Upper and lower-case are not significant.

Dialogic telephony devices are named in the format "dtiB1T1" where the first number is the board number and the second number is the channel number.

Dialogic voice and voice/fax devices are named in the format "dxxxB1C1" where the first number is the logical board number and the second number is the channel number. Note that the logical board number differs from the physical board number on high-density boards which are configured as multiple logical boards. On a VFX/40 a single entry excludes both the voice and the fax channel.

Brooktrout fax channels are named in the format "fax0" where the number (base 0) indicates the channel listed in \WINNT\BFAX\FAXINIT.LOG.

Commetrex OTF fax channels are named in the format "OTF01" where the number is the channel number.

Dialogic Diva channels are named in the format "EiconB1C01" where the first number is the line device and the second is the channel number (with a leading zero).

In the CopiaFacts configurator (CFHWL), channels in a node are sequentially numbered from 1 for each board type. Numbers corresponding to channels excluded by this command must not be specified as channel numbers when you configure lines in CFHWL. Changes in this command will often require matching changes using CFHWL.

Default: CopiaFacts opens all detected hardware channels.
