Copia granted U.S. patent for Mail Merge to Fax

Naperville, IL -- February, 1998 -- Copia International,

to announce that U.S. patent #5,715,069 has been issued for our
Mail Merge to Fax product. The patent, issued on February
3, 1998, recognizes Copia's unique solution to high speed, high
volume fax delivery.

Copia developed a special font for Mail Merge, which
is quickly and easily decoded by the fax print driver to obtain
the fax phone number and other delivery options.
The information encoded in this font is stripped prior
to delivering the document. This approach allows both custom and
standard Windows application to easily send faxes. Since the driver
does the decoding, Mail Merge to Fax is virtually immune
to changes in the Windows applications that often derail other approaches.
Mail Merge to Fax is capable of faxing custom,
personalized documents at a speed of 25 pages per minute directly
from a mail merge operation. The product is very easy to use and
only requires that the merge fields containing the fax number be
specified in the Mail Merge font at the top of the page. Additional
delivery options such as attachments and tracking may also be specified
as part of the "action line" containing the fax number.
Tracking allows the user to monitor the fax for delivery confirmation
or failure identification.
Mass mailings require printing, sorting, envelope stuffing,

and more convenient. Business forms can be directly printed to the
